Tasty Chip Peameal Bacon is the genuine Canadian back bacon. For forty years and three generations the Mulock family has produced quality pork products and the company has evolved into a specialty house producing only quality peameal bacon products.
Our Canadian Peameal Bacon is made from boneless pork loins, short cut from the leaner portion of the loin to give a more uniform product. Then they are sweet pickle cured and rolled in the traditional golden corn meal coating.
Tasty Chip Peameal Bacon tastes great and cooks up tender and juicy. Since it is lower in fat and salt, and higher in protein than conventional side bacon, it's a tasty choice to have on your menu, and a healthy one too. The meal appeal of Tasty Chip Peameal Bacon goes on all the day through. It makes a hearty breakfast with eggs or pancakes, and is the essential ingredient for Eggs Benedict. Tasty Chip Peameal Bacon comes in two formats; pre-sliced, shingle packed in individual layers and in two half loin pieces individually cryovaced.
SIMPLE TO PREPARE
It's easy to prepare Tasty Chip Genuine Canadian Bacon. From sliced, simply grill at 350°F for 1 to 2 minutes per side - or barbecue for the same time away from the flame. As a roast, cook the loin piece by adding a little water and baking in a covered pan at 350°F for approximately 1 1/2 hours or until internal temperature reaches 166°F. Upon cutting the result should be pinkish in colour and juicy with a firm texture.
